Begin by heating up the oil in a large, heavy-based saucepan. Fry the minced beef in batches over high heat until it changes color, ensuring it becomes crumbly. Remove it from the pan.

Sauté Onion and Garlic, Combine Ingredients
Sauté the onion and garlic until soft, then return the cooked meat to the pan.
Add the remaining ingredients and transfer the mixture to a casserole dish. -
Prepare Bread Mixture
Coat the bread with a few spoons of buttermilk and stir it into the meat mixture.

Mix Milk and Eggs, Season
Combine the remaining milk and eggs, seasoning the mixture to taste.

Bake until the topping is set, at 190°C, for 25–30 minutes.
