›› 6 bananas
›› 50m1 butter
›› 65m1 soft brown sugar
›› 45m1 golden syrup
›› 45ml thick cream
›› vanilla essence
›› vanilla ice cream (optional)
›› Braai bananas in their skins over the coals until skins turn black. (You can also grill them in the oven.)
›› Place sauce ingredients in a saucepan and mix well.
›› Heat until butter and sugar have melted. Pour over cooked bananas and serve with ice cream, if desired.
›› Remaining sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for one to two weeks.
